I woke up this morning and they had picked their own adorable V-day outfits. I love having creative and independent kids! They are amazing little people who bring so much joy into my life. I think it is wonderful to have a day to celebrate LOVE. I have many people in my life that I love and I thank them with all my heart for all they mean to me.

These are the words of my now 4 year old Aurora Devon. What a kid. She is charming, sensitive, creative, and fun loving. She is a 'girly-girl' to the max and I love it! Anything princess, babies, makeup, clothes, phones, romance, pink, purple, sparkly, etc. She is your girl! And boy did I have fun doing her birthday party!! Repunzel from the movie Tangled is our favorite princess at the moment. We watch the movie at least once a week. And when I say we I mean me as well :) love it! So, of course this was our theme..

Braiding this hair was a chore. The kids got home from school while I was in the middle of it and offered to help and it made all the difference. Should have seen Aurora's face when she realized it was for her party.

Breakfast in bed followed by presents was a great way to start the day. Her Grandparents spoiled her with lovely gifts. (She has yet to take off the jewelry)

I had such fun making the Tower! Little ideas would come to me in the middle of the night and of course I stole other ideas :)

I let Aurora decide what food she wanted for the most part. Thus the cheetos, grapes and gummy bears. :) I picked the cucumber sandwiches and scones with clotted cream..who doesn't love a tea party?
If you know Tangled then you know the frying pan is such a funny and creative part of the show. This was my last minute attempt at edible frying pans. The kids loved it :)
I know she is my kid and I am biassed but look at that face! She is a doll! Does not mind the attention me thinks!!

This time Cozette got to perform with one of her best friends Fiona. And they got to wear PJ's!
And of course our adopted Grandparents Ellen and Don Olson came to support and adore her.

I love this facial expression! She really is a natural and the best one up there (says a very biased but very theater savvy mom) I am so proud of this kid....

Elias had spots show up the day after Christmas and I thought his were bad. He was in bed for a couple of days and made good use of his new legos but didn't complain once. The kid is an angel. I really thought we were in the clear for the girls but exactly two weeks later....
the drama began! And boy were they hurting. Poor girls had high fevers, itching like crazy and contant complaints and neediness. Their spots were everywhere...and I mean everywhere!!

Anson even got them but it was a light case (thank heavens) but I think Aurora got the worst of it. It seemed every square inch of her body was covered. We spent a week at home watching movies, taking oatmeal baths, calamine lotion, grean drink, vitamins, etc, etc...
And I ended the week getting a very expensive haircut, shoping for clothes and going to yoga as a treat to myself for being an extra good mommy! lol

We headed to Utah for Dad's internship and had a fun-filled summer spent with family, friends and sunshine! There were so many fun things planned and good quality time with cousins. We were blessed to rent a cheep and beautiful home in Provo, I was able to visit Jennee's midwife for check-ups, the kids made new friends. We had the time of our lives!!

The beginning of our vacation was spent in the water. We had two beach days while staying with my Aunt Janet who happens to be the best host ever. We love our time with her and her family and I am seriously thinking about moving closer to the ocean! I could not get enough. It seemed to work a charm on Cozette and Aurora's skin problems as well. they cleared right up. So we have a medical reason now as well :)

What a fabulous time we had visiting Mickey and Minney! The kids LOVED it and were troopers. We got the two day park hopper and Chris flew me home the second day (his idea and yes, he wins the best husband award for that) and he and the kids got so much done! Monsters inc, bugs life, buzz light year, space mountain, peter pan, pirates of the caribean, and more!! I did a bunch of shoping before hand for clothes and toys to fit the occasion. (which was much cheaper) It was like Christmas all over again they were so spoiled. Made for a great memory!

The kids teacher said they were little fish's and were quite natural in the water. I had so much fun watching them enjoy the water and eagerly learn everything. We definitely want to make this a regular summer thing!

We had a few days with Kerry (Chris's sis) and Ben before we had to head home to Denver. They were in town doing a performance at the conference center about the british pioneers. We didn't even get to see it because of timing but got a sneek preview at a fireside and saw how talented they are and how beautiful the music is. We loved getting to spend time with them and they were so great with the kids! Love you guys.....

Cozette took a musical theater class for the last few months that she has absolutely loved. She is definitely my child and it brings a light to my eyes to see her enthusiam and natural talent. She performed in her very first show THE PIED PIPER and we had a blast watching her!

She also has the most amazing sunday school teachers who have been such a support and spoil her rotten. Thanks Ellen and Becky..we love you!

We had a fabulous Easter and the kids got spoiled. Saturday morning we enjoyed an Easter egg hunt with some church friends.

I figure I better enjoy this stage where they are all lovey and affectionate. I am told it can change drastically when they are teens. :)

Sunday morning it was another hunt and the movie Tangled (which is our new fam fav) to surprise the kids with. Church starts at nine and Chris and I spoke so I am glad the kids are good egg finders because we were in a hurry!

Last years Halloween

This years Halloween! Chris took me ballroom dancing
and we had the best time! I felt a bit rusty after so many
years but it started coming back to me and Chris was so good
at picking it up I think he is a natural. We did the foxtrot, rumba,
tango, cha cha (love that cha cha!) and they even taught us a
bit of choreography to THILLER! what a night to remember...

We LOVE the library and utilize it to the max! Aurora and I go to 'book babies' every Wednesday and have our special time together. We learn songs and do crafts as well as read books. So fun!

One of my favorite things in the whole world is being serenaded by my husband. He has been doing it quite a lot lately as a good wind down after his studies. He is so talented...and extremely Handsome if I do say so myself!

This is a happy mommy because she is about to go on a date with her hubby thanks to some wonderful parents who came to visit!!! Chris and I went to his very first haunted house ever and had a blast!

Cozette is entering the 'Reflections contest' at her school and took these pics of Buddy and Aurora that are absolutely priceless! She wrote a poem to go along with them. She better win! lol

Had to take this shot as I think all of my kids have had turns falling asleep in silly ways. Guess her little hands were cold and she couldn't find matching gloves. :)
Cozette's school had a field day and wouldn't you know it...she won the race with students in her class. If you look close you can see her shoe ahead of everyone else. She was on the opposite end of my picture taking unfortunately.

I have decided to get used to the fact that Life is full of CHANGE! If you know me well then you know I am not always the biggest fan of change. Of course, it can be exciting and adventurous and I am always glad to learn new things and grow in the process. I have discovered that we have moved eight... count that, EIGHT, times in the last eight years of marriage, and if you ask me that's about 6 times too many! :) We have been blessed to live in nice homes, in fabulous wards, and make some amazing friends. So, really it has been quite fun. Our current adventure is living in Denver while Chris attends DU law school. Denver has a lot to offer and we find ourselves once again feeling our Heavenly Father's abundant blessings being poured out upon us. But, may I say, I am not having fun with 'starting over' again. Learning my way around, trying to convince people that I am really cool and they better want to be my friend :) registering the kids at school, and wishing I knew my neighbors. And, of course, trying hard not to compare everything to my wonderful Utah! Mostly, if I am honest, I miss my family and friends and wish I could be here and there at the same time! What a huge blessing that we can jump in a car for eight (there's that lovely number again) hours and be there!!

We have downsized and this is a few pics of our new home. I was sad at first that we were going to have to do this, but I have to say it has been so good. I spend way less time cleaning! That happens when you go from 4 bathrooms to 1! It feels good to simplify. The home is older, so it has charm, and we are in love with the neighborhood. So many trees, parks and walking trails. Denver is awesome that way! Elias was my little model that day and insisted on being in all the pictures showing off his new shirt from his Grandparents in England.

We had to say goodbye to our dear cousins for a long while. We had gotten quite attached living in the same home for almost a year. Stu and Lisa and kiddies moved to Ohio for a great job and we will surely miss them!!

School started early out here. I had about 5 days after we moved here to have them all ready. I had to purchase a bunch of school supplies which is something I did not have to do in Utah (not a fan), but it all worked out and they absolutely LOVE school! I have to say I am really impressed with their teachers and what the school stands for and offers the kids. They have a healthy snack policy, so we as parents are not allowed to send candy, cupcakes or basic junk-food for birthdays and such. Might sound cruel, but in Utah it seemed Cozy was having lots of sugar everyday at school and I got no say in it. They also have the kids exercise every day, and the school has a garden that the kids plant and eat from! How stinkin' cool is that?! I let them pick their own outfits for their first day, (that is difficult for a controlling mom) and I thought they did a good job! Elias was trying to look like his cool cousin Boston! :)

Well, since I don't have the incredible social life I once did, I have had more time for crafts and have loved creating these cutsie things! Cozette likes it too, I think!!

Chris turned 30!! It was the best and worst of Birthdays for him I think. We had a blast of a weekend with the fun things I planned and surprised him with but food poising hit him and he got terribly ill. poor thing...
The kids have loved the hill in our back yard for sledding. We have invited a few friends over to join in the fun and the kids have become daredevils!

Late Christmas post

This was a Lovely Christmas for our family. We made some wonderful memories and ate some yummy food but because I am posting this so late that is about all I can remember:)

Cozette had a Christmas performance where they sang in french. She is still in the adjustment stage in her new class but has come home and taught the family what she learns which has been great fun!
Chris had decided to grow his hair and beard longer than usual and I quite like the change. He is hot no matter what he does ;)

We kept it simple this year (for us) and the kids seemed super happy with what they got. Santa brought (cheep) MP3 players, bow and arrow for Buddy and camera for Cozy. Aurora got a doll and stroller.
Aunty Lisa made the cutest crocheted hats for us girls and I have now learned the art and am having so much fun with it!
This was our Christmas morning visitor out in the yard. He stayed for ages!

The kids put on the most adorable Nativity ever! Cozy planned it all and it was seriously a highlight of our Christmas. We have amazing kids! That is all there is to it..

This year I made a great effort to keep it focused on the true meaning of Christmas. The Savior being central to it and our lives in general. How grateful I am to him and the life he lived and sacrificed for us all. Merry Late Christmas!

Grandparents in town!

What a crazy life! since our move to Provo we have been busy and having fun. Nigel and Denise came to visit and we were able to do lots of great activities. They spoiled us and we made some wonderful memories!

We did our usual visit to Kerry (Sister Rogers) on Temple Square and felt blessed to see her happy and doing so well. We got to hear 'music and the spoken word' but were put in a special room for kids :)

The Zoo was a big highlight for us all. We got to see the baby Elephant and Girafe as well as the Gorillas (my faves) and the Tiger. The weather could not have been more perfect! Denise and Nigel bought us season passes and we are thrilled!!

Papa (Grandpa Nigel) made sure the kids did it all! They got to go on the carousel, the train, and have ice cream...they were in heaven!

Each family got to have a day with the grandparents to do what they wanted. We picked the childrens museum (Discovery Gateway)because I have been wanting to take the kids for ages. They absolutely LOVED it and we will be going back soon because We got passes once again for Christmas..thanks Nigel!

This was my favorite picture of them all because Aurora kept us all entertained with her stinkin cute personality. she will miss her English Grandparents!

So we are pretty much settled in our new home while we rent out our old one. It all feels quite bitter sweet. We feel this is where we need to be for now and are excited for the adventure. Thanks to all the friends and family who have helped us in anyway.

My neighbor just up the street runs a pre-school (which is awesome because it saves me driving around) and Elias had his first day today. My son insisted on wearing his massive backpack and coat but he sure loved it as I knew he would. He is such a good natured boy and loves all kinds of play. They had tons of fun things to do and play with so he is excited to go back. The little girl I take care of named Brooklyn decided to try it out too. It means mommy gets a bit of a break in the mornings :) I think pre-school knocked him out ...This was him at nap time. Yes, he is still taking naps ( I am spoiled ) when I went in to check on him he was wearing this hat. Dont ask me why! Love that sleepy face...

She was thrilled to start first grade and we think she will love her teacher, Mrs Allen who everyone in the neighborhood rants and raves about. I am a touch sad that she will be gone so many hours of the day but also a touch glad because her and her brother seem to fight too much about the silliest things. :)

A wonderful California vacation!

We finally had our first official family vacation...yay! We decided It was time the kids saw Disneyland (before Cozy grows out of the 'princess' stage although I never did ;) The kids did great on the flight but we had to entertain Aurora the whole flight which became a bit of a chalenge. definately wont be going on any extended flight travel anytime soon.

We started our vacation off at the beach. It was the kids fist time in the ocean (they're a bit deprived, I know) Of course, they LOVED it and we all got lots of sun! Poor Chris is blistered and even mentioned how bad it was in his testimony today at church. :)

We stayed at my aunt Jeanette's house and got the royal treatment. this is us before going to church with them on the Sunday.

OUR FUN WEEKEND

We have been looking forward to the Scotish festival for what feels like ages! The rain was the only disapointment...that and the cost. We loved the pipe bands, highland games and ofcourse the food. I had a proper sausage roll! yum! We drove all the way to thanksgiving point and after about an hour it started pouring down (proper Scotish weather) It was an adventure and a lot of fun!

We then went to our ward primary carnival...can I just say after what we spent at the festival I was so glad we belong to such a great church where the parties are free :) The kids had a blast with the blow up slide, face painting, endless prizes and a really entertaining clown who invited Cozy up on stage to help her with a magic trick. The kids were in heaven!

Also, have to mention that after Cozy begged to have her training wheels off her bike, Buddy mastered it. Took him only minutes! :) needless to say his sister was very motivated after that and she then got it down. They look so cute riding it!!

I knew it was in my blood to want to plant things but only really figured it out this summer. The picture doesn't really show much but I have planted flowers and done my best to make our front yard look nice. Today I was weeding and mowing and boy is it exhausting! What a birthday week we had! Tuesday we celebrated Elias's by going to see bedtime stories the movie (with Adam Sandler) It was super funny! Cozettes birthday was Thursday and when Chris got home from work we got in the car and headed for Chuck-e-cheezes where we piged out on pizza and bought way to many tokens! The tradition is breadfast in bed while opening presents then cake and icecream after dinner. The celebrations continued through the weekend as Cozette got her ears pierced Saturday. She was a trooper and barely flinched. We had a family party for them Sunday and my sibblings and parents spoiled them rotten! so long birthday week....see ya next year. I'm tired!

Santa was up all blimin night but it was an incredibly grand sight!

I think we had 5 proper Christmas dinners. Turkey, Ham, Lamb...We stuffed ourselves silly!

It was such a blessing to have Denise, Nigel and Alex FINALLY get here to celibrate with us.

Temple Square was such fun. Our good friends Jeremy and Melissa came with us, and it was their first time ever. They are new converts to the church and we were blessed to be a part of their missionary experience.

I love Christmas!....don't we all? December is a month filled with parties, lights, treats, family, singing, treats, presents, decorations, cards, treats, mistletoe, festive movies, snowfall and treats!

Sunday best!

What has really meant the most for me so far this Christmas is teaching my children about the Savior's birth. HE is the reason for the season, and I love that we have this special time to focus on him and use every teaching opportunity we can to share with our little ones what it is their older brother has really done for them. My kids light up and I can see their testimonies are already starting to grow. I thought Christmas was great as a child but as an adult it's truly amazing!!

TWILIGHT!!!

Yes, I am one of these die-hard Twilight fans and proud of it! I know it may be a tiny bit pathetic but it makes life so fun to be obsessed over things worth obsessing over. I know I brag about my husband a lot but he truly is wonderful. He surpised me with midnight tickets (and t-shirt) to go with the girls... and can I say that it was a great and memorable night!! At our "before" party we ate loads of sinful food while reading exerpes from Midnight Sun. Counting down the minutes till we left for the show :) The theatre was jam packed full of excited girls (I think there were about 3 men there). The energy level was through the roof! We squeeled and screamed through most of the movie and although it got mixed reviews I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We are welcoming the holidays! What a fun Halloween it was for our little family and the wonderful weather was a serious bonus. The kids loved the dressing up and I felt proud that I found their costumes at a garage sale in the summer for $2 a piece! sorry, but I have to brag... :)

My little Angel was a Devil. Look at that face.... squeeeeeze!!! Our ward had a trunk or treat that loaded the kids up with candy to last a lifetime (which I will snitch when they are not looking:) We went to a few houses to trick or treet then off to the parents so they could see how adorable their grandkids are!

Now for the adult fun..... Saturday we got a sitter and spent the night partying across the street at our neighbors house (Cella's) It was a bit outa control and I cant remember the last time I had that much fun!! We love our neighborhood friends so much!

This ones for you Whitney...remember when Chris used to make that face to scare you? We had a great time putting our costumes together. We found everything in the house and only had to purchase the face makeup. Once again braging about my frugal abilities...

My lovely cousin Sheena set up an overnighter at a beautiful home in Park City (thanks by the way sheen, your the best!) and I think we all agree that it was a total blast and just what the doctor ordered. Our fabulous husbands took care of the kids (or animals:) while we were away laughing, talking, eating and shopping! And I even came home to a clean house...I am one lucky woman!

We got dolled up to take some fun model shots. (had to take advantage of having two incredibly talented photograhers-thanks Dawni and Carrie) I have to admit I felt young again and grew to love my sisters and cousins even more, which I didn't think was possible...they are all amazing women! I love you guys!!!

My little Angel has had a cold and I think is trying to get some teeth! My others had loads of teeth by now. She still keeps her smile on though, and makes us all talk baby talk all day to her just to get to see it. You can see her sore nose in this pic (aw...bless) isn't she the cutest?!

I am so glad I cought this moment! She loves her daddy more than anyone I think, and this picture is proof of that. Aurora is just a ray of sunshine in our lifes! What more is there to say?

I had to post this sweet picture of my two guys. Buddy loves to dress like Daddy and has really bean aware of his wardrobe lately. He is taking after his sister (Cozette) in his pickiness and how he changes his clothes about 20 times a day! Heaven help me!!

Aunty Kez came into town for a last get-away before she heads BACK into town to serve her mission at temple square! We are of course thrilled about this and had a great time with her. We did a couple memorable things like a trip up to Brighton canyon and my little bros wedding celebrations but mostly she tagged along with our life like coming with me to Zumba (excersize class) in the morning, shopping at the store, and just entertaining the kids. We love you Kez!

You know how you dont want to force your kids to do something just because you like it so much? Well, I put Cozette in a dance class and told myself not to be upset if she didn't like it..... She loves it!! And I may be a bit biased but she seems like a natural dancer. Her teacher is strict and makes sure they know its not 'play time' which I am in two minds about. I like that she is learning technique and discipline, but want for it to be fun too. Her costumes for an upcoming recital are to-die-for adorable and I will most definitely post pics of that.

Little Bro's Wedding

We had the funnest weekend celebrating my brother Winslow's wedding. I am excited that my brother finally got the courage to get married, and we love his new wife, Heidi. They are a great couple, and it meant so much to be a part of their special day.

Cozette and Elias loved their new wedding outfits, and showed them off on Sunday at church. They both kept going up to people and just standing there waiting for a reaction to how adorable they looked. It was so cute! And, Elias wants to wear his green tie all the time.

My Cozette is a kindergartener! So far she is lovin it, and comes home and tells me all the details about mastering the monkey bars, computer lab, letter of the day and what nut-free snack they had. Her teacher says she is very bright and ready to start learning to read. We are so proud of her!

I have the fondest memories of playing with my cousins! It has really meant something to watch my kids with theirs and see how instant the bonds can form. What a month for cousins!! and We were all in heaven because of it! My sisters Clover and Jennee and their families came into town as well as Chris' bro Stuart and his wife Lisa with their cuties, Lucas and Phebe. (they moved here to do a phd at the Y) it was a mad house for a while but so much fun! We love you guys!!!!!

OK, so I'm sick of the old-person jokes already... I was excited to turn thirty, but I didn't realize so many people considered that old, and that they would find such joy in constantly reminding me of my age... I'm in the absolute prime of my life here people! No more old-person jokes!!!

I GOT MY COUNTRY KITCHEN!!!

So, my darling husband gave me the best birthday/mothers' day gift ever!!! He painted the kitchen and refinished the cabinets for me!!! Here's some of the before, during and after pics :)

Rogers Family Vacation 2008

It had been 10 years since Chris' siblings were all together at the same time for a family photo (due to each of the boys serving their missions)!!! So, we celebrated a special occassion when Chris' family all visited us in April for their vacation. While they were in UT, we all traveled to St. George for a week of fun and relaxation - swimming, hiking, shopping, visiting friends, taking a road-trip to Vegas, etc. It was sooooo much fun!

This is our first professional photo shoot as a family since Aurora's birth... With 3 children, we are officially a BIG family!

Well, it's that special time of the year when we over-indulge our chocolate addiction, and teach our children that somehow the candy relates to the gift of our Savior's death and resurrection :) One British tradition that Chris taught our kids this year is baking "Hot Cross Buns." They are a sweet roll with raisins and spices in the middle, and as part of the Easter story we glaze them with a frosted "cross" on the top. I took a couple pics of the occasion to share on our blog. Anyway, we wish you all a happy Easter season, and hope you all find joy in spending time with family and friends. Oh, and don't eat too much candy! :)

Our biggest news is the arrival of our sweet angel Aurora Devon, born February 11th. We can't get over how cute she is, and we are excited to be able to brag about her and our other little angels on this blog! :)
